Sample wording to be reviewed by your attorney before launch. It reflects the uTour Rides business model: a networking and referral service, not a transportation carrier.
Terms & Conditions
1. What uTour Rides is
uTour Rides ("we", "us") operates a transportation networking and referral platform that connects customers with independent transportation providers in The Bahamas. We do not own vehicles, employ drivers, or provide transportation services ourselves.
2. Ride requests and offers
Submitting a request does not guarantee a ride. Independent providers may offer availability and a proposed price; the customer chooses whether to accept an offer. A ride is confirmed only when the customer selects a provider and the provider is notified.
3. Fares and payment
Fares are proposed by the provider and agreed by the customer. Payment for transportation is made directly by the customer to the provider. uTour Rides does not collect fares, hold funds, or charge commissions on rides.
4. Driver membership
Providers pay uTour Rides a recurring monthly membership fee to access the network. Fees are billed in advance through our payment processor, are non-refundable for the current period, and may be changed with 30 days' notice. Membership may be suspended or terminated for breach of these terms, loss of licence or insurance, or customer safety concerns.
5. Cancellations
Customers may cancel without charge before confirmation. After confirmation, any cancellation fee is a matter between the customer and the provider and must be disclosed by the provider in their offer.
6. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, uTour Rides is not liable for the acts, omissions, vehicles, or services of any independent provider or customer. Our liability for any claim relating to the platform is limited to the membership fees paid in the preceding month.
Privacy Policy
What we collect
- Customers: name, phone, email, trip details, and chosen contact channels.
- Providers: identity, licence, insurance, vehicle and payment-method details (card data is held by our payment processor, never on our servers).
- Location: a provider's GPS position only while they have activated sharing on a confirmed ride.
How we use it
- To coordinate requests, send confirmations and updates by email, SMS or WhatsApp, and generate tracking links.
- Customer contact details are shared only with the provider the customer selects.
- Live location is visible only to the assigned customer and uTour dispatch, and is deleted after the ride is completed or cancelled.
Your choices
You may request a copy or deletion of your data by emailing rides@utourrides.com. Providers can stop location sharing at any time from their portal.
Independent Transportation Provider Disclaimer
- Transportation providers on the uTour Rides network are independent operators and are not employees, agents, or partners of uTour Rides.
- Providers determine their own availability, vehicles, and proposed prices.
- Customers have the opportunity to select their preferred provider and are not obliged to accept any offer.
- Transportation payments are made directly between the customer and the selected provider.
- uTour Rides does not collect transportation fares and does not take commissions on individual rides.
- Providers pay uTour Rides a monthly membership fee to participate in the network.
- uTour Rides dispatchers facilitate communication and coordination only.
- Each provider is solely responsible for holding valid licences, insurance, and complying with all applicable Bahamian laws.
